TxP2P is committed to improving the lives of Texas children who have disabilities, chronic illness, and/or special health care needs. We empower families to be strong advocates through parent-to-parent support, resource referral, and education. In addition, educate professionals about the unique needs of children with disabilities with the goal of improving care and opportunities. Lastly, TxP2P is dedicated to championing the efforts of a diverse set of parent support groups and advocacy on behalf of all children’s well-being.
This website is designed by parents for parents of children and adults with disabilities to offer support, inspiration, resources and links to services. It allows them to connect with other parents who share their perspectives, challenges and successes.
CAN is the nation’s leading family caregiver organization working to improve the quality of life for the more than 90 million Americans who care for loved ones with chronic conditions, disabilities, disease or the frailties of old age by providing education, peer support and resources to family caregivers across the country free of charge. CAN serves a broad spectrum of family caregivers, ranging from the parents of children with special needs, to the families and friends of wounded soldiers; from a young couple dealing with a diagnosis of MS, to adult children caring for parents with Alzheimer’s disease.
